I've seen his work but who is he, well I'm new to the internet but not selling art, heres a brief intro. I majored in art/architecture at the University of New Mexico which lead to a career in architecture/design/building. I had a very successful career in architecture but wanted to explore my real passion, art. My first SLR Nikon camera bought in my 20's provided an outlet for this freedom I was seeking. It allowed me explore without oversight, let the imagination flow without bounds. My camera was my advocation while I did architecture, but became my buddy when I retired, and a full time pursuit.

My philosophy in art is really simple(I like kiss), does it display"beauty",that's it in a nutshell, I love beauty that's what I'm always looking for, it's all around us you just have to stop look and take notice. If it's pleasing to the eye then want it. I love vivid, bright color and consider it an important element. Sunrise or sunset is where color happens, therefore I have many sunrise/sunset shots. In addition to beauty and color the ocean plays a big part. I've been around it from a kid at Cape Cod to my move to San Diego to be near the sea year round. I love everything about the ocean, so it's often incorporated in my work. I'm awed by "character" but it's harder to find, I found some great character in old dwellings in New Mexico, and some terrific and beautiful dunes in Arizona. The final element was major and came later, "digital art" which was new and exciting and was needed when art galleries declined any photography, award winning or not. I started manipulating my photos on my computer rather than painting, it was different but still art and exploding. The other elements that go into a great shot we've all been taught. But the basics for me are beauty, color, character and digital they are the main characters that define my work.

Having submitted to national photography sites for many years and their competitions and winning many awards and also having been published, I thought it's now time to show, being retired I had the time and I'm proud of my work. I made the decision to be juried into the prestigious Del Mar Art Fair and sold my work there. I then decided to go for the gold, to get juried into the famous Spanish Art Village in Balboa Park in San Diego, getting accepted there was very special. It allowed me to learn a lot about what people liked in my work and I just enjoyed talking cameras and art with them. I sold in the Spanish Village for 3 years but stopped everything when Covid came along.

This is a brief summary of who I am what I believe and how I got here. I didn't want to bore you with just a list all the awards and achievements, but to know a little about me. If you read this far, thanks for your interest I sincerely appreciate it. Much more work can be found at this site: ArtbuckPhotography.com
